Patroness

MS LINDA COBBAH
MS Linda Cobbah is a Home Economics professional with twenty-five years’ teaching experience; having taught at all levels of education and currently a Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Home Economics Education (Food and Nutrition Unit) in the Faculty of Science, Allied Sciences and Home Economics – University of Education (UEW), Winneba. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Home Economics Education (Food and Nutrition Option) and is a PhD Food Science Technology candidate at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana.
She has a strong desire and passion to facilitate and conduct research in Home Economics education, curriculum development, Vocational and technical fields with emphasis on Food and Nutrition and other related areas such as recipe and product development and entrepreneurship. Her passion for self-reliance motivates her to organise exhibitions on varied themes including entrepreneurship, recipe development and restoration of indigenous Ghanaian dishes. She has attended and presented papers in both local and international conferences and has a number of articles published in reputable online journals in the field of Food and Nutrition. She has also published course books such as the Food and Nutrition Practical Manual, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurial Skills for Schools and Colleges (4th Ed.) and the latest being A Comprehensive Guide to Seminar Presentations.
She has been a Food and Nutrition examiner (both Theory and Praxis) of West African Examination Council (WAEC) and an adjudicator of exhibitions and pageants for over a decade. She is a public speaker and MC for diverse programmes. She has contributed to her society in diverse ways as she is a Facilitator for Community-Based Skill Training Workshops; Diet Related Health Awareness Community Outreach Programmes and a regular guest speaker of Diet Diary and Science Focus on Radio Windy Bay (a Community Radio) in the Effutu municipality, Winneba. She currently serves as the first counsellor in the Relief Society of Kojo Beedu Ward, the Stake President for the Young Women Organisation and the Stake Communications Director in the Winneba Ghana Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Linda a has strong desire for developmental projects geared towards improvement or growth in the rising generation. She has participated in a project geared towards assisting Visually Impaired to acquire employable culinary skills.
Miss Cobbah remained a faithful and active member of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), GNAT-LAS and was the District SHS rep five years continuous until her lectureship appointment. She is currently the Patroness of the Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus (GNATOC), UEW Chapter.
Miss Cobbah’s lives by philosophies like, “Drink deep or taste not!”, Persistence will always break resistance!” and“If it must be done, it must be done well”. Her future professional and academic strides are hinged on her passion for Teaching, Food and Nutrition, Health and Wellness, Entrepreneurship, Self-Reliance, Self-Improvement, Economic and Environmental Sustainability.
GNAT Secretary

Ms VICTORIA ESINAM HOMMEY
Ms Victoria Esinam Hommey is an experienced educator, administrator,councillor and civic leader from Ghana. With a second degree from Cape Coast University, she has dedicated her career to education, trade union, leadership, and community development
She serves as the Municipal GNAT Secretary and is actively involved in several educational and civic organizations, including the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO). She has also worked as a Regional Coordinator and Polling Station Observer, contributing to electoral transparency in West Africa
Beyond education, Ms. Victoria is a panel member for the Family Tribunal at the Magistrate Court and has experience in conflict resolution and community engagement. She has strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, complemented by expertise in public relations, training facilitation, and policy advocacy.
Her diverse skill set includes computer proficiency, communication, driving, sewing, farming, and sports coaching—having served as a Regional Hockey Coach in the Eastern Region.
Ms. Victoria is a dedicated professional with a passion for education, governance, and community development, striving to make a lasting impact in every role she undertakes.

Felix Henrich Barnasco
G.N.A.T.O.C. Chairman, U.E.W.
Felix Henrich Barnasco is a Ghanaian born in Western Region of Ghana specifically Apremdo. A third-year student of University of Education, Winneba, majoring Mathematics Education with Economics (BSc). Had his basic education at Apremdo Catholic JHS and proceeded to read Business at St. Marys’ Boys SHS, Apowa and had his Diploma in Basic Education at Komenda College of Education and specialised in Mathematics with Technical Skills. After completion of college, offered his services as a professional teacher to Apowa Methodist JHS and Princess Catholic JHS where he facilitated students in various subjects i.e Mathematics, Pre Technical skills, ICT, et al for over five years.
Through his professional career and academic pursuit, he offered himself to many leadership roles such as Class Prefect, Class Counselor, School Prefect, SRC General Secretary-Komenda College, Sports Coach/Secretary and Welfare Committee chairman - Princess Catholic Basic School Teachers, National Organising Secretary - Tertiary Students Network of Ahanta(TERSNA), SHEP Coordinator, KOSA-UEW President, et al which have gained him a lot of experiences and much exposure to tackle any leadership issues with ease.
In addition, Felix Henrich Barnasco is a Christian and proud member of Assemblies of God Church. Religious Experiences as Youths Organising Secretary, Prayer batch member and Usher to Victory Assembles of God, Apowa and Assemblies of God Campus Ministry respectively and many other roles.
Felix Henrich Barnasco is a staunch sports lover and always endeavours to champion the wellbeing of society.
Felix Henrich Barnasco has lived with two philosophies “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” and “Nothing in life is so hard that you can't make it easier by the way you take it. Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it. It's not the situation”

Patrick Opoku-Nhyira
GNATOC Secretary, U.E.W
Patrick Opoku-Nhyira is a Ghanaian born at Gomoa Oguaa-Krom in the Central Region of Ghana. He begun his elementary school at Amazing Love School and completed at Ashaiman No. 6 J.H.S. He then went to Ashaiman Senior High School at Ashaiman.
After S.H.S he then proceeded to Peki College of Education in Peki to pursue his Diploma In Basic Education where he became the Assistant Entertainment Prefect and PENSA Organiser.
After a successful completion of College, he was offered posting at Brofo D/A Basic School in Gomoa Brofo - Central Region where he imparted knowledge to students for over seven years.
Over there, he was a class teacher, a Subject teacher, GNAT School Rep, Sports Secretary, Deputy Circuit Sports Organiser, Circuit Sports Secretary, GNAT Local Youth Coordinator and GNAT Secretary for Adaa-Ngyiresi Local.
Patrick Opoku-Nhyira then went to the University of Education Winneba to pursue Bachelor of Science (Physical Education) where he is currently in L300.
He is the current GNATOC-UEW Secretary for the 2024/2025 academic year.
His hobbies are; playing football, playing TV games particularly soccer and listening to music.
Additionally, Patrick Opoku-Nhyira is a Christian and attends Christian Apostolic Church.
His philosophies in life are:

Patrick Opoku-Nhyira throughout his professional career has garnered communication skills, leadership skills and he is also a team player who is able to help his teammates achieve their goals.

Emmanuella Dzandu
Treasurer
Emmanuella Dzandu is a dedicated educator, leader, and advocate committed to empowering others through education and service. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in Mathematics with Economics Education at Winneba learning flourished. She continued her studies at Mawuli Senior School, excelling in academics and leadership. Her passion for teaching and mentorship led her to St. Teresa’s College of Education, where she further honed her skills and embraced opportunities to lead and inspire others. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in Mathematics with Economics Education at Winneba, reflecting her commitment to professional growth.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, she has held key leadership positions that underscore her commitment to service. She served as Treasurer at Mawuli Senior High School, demonstrating her organizational and financial acumen. As the Chairperson of the Association of Catholic Teacher Trainees, she championed initiatives that fostered collaboration among her peers.
In her teaching career, she took on the critical role of GNATLAS Coordinator for her district, where she actively promoted the welfare of teachers. She also served as a Girl Child Coordinator, advocating for equal educational opportunities for girls and mentoring them to reach their potential.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Emmanuella serves as the treasurer for GNATOC-UEW. In this capacity, she is accountable and effectively manages financial resources while supporting initiatives aimed at fostering the professional development of teachers. As a team player, she is guided by the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Throughout her career, Emmanuella remains committed to her academic, leadership, and professional growth. Her experience as an educator has equipped her with the skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and her leadership roles have honed her ability to work collaboratively with others.
Emmanuella Dzandu’s academic and professional pursuits are driven by her passion for empowering others through education. She is dedicated to making a positive impact in her community and beyond to create lasting change.

Emma Amponsah
G.N.A.T.L.A.S. Cord.
Emma Amponsah (EMPOSA) is a third year student of the university of education _Winneba, pursuing BSC. Clothing and textiles education in the Faculty of Home Economics.She is affiliated to the university hall ( the Abrenpon).
She is from the Western North Region SEFWI Bekwai to be precise.She started her basic education at the Sefwi Bekwai Roman Catholic JHS and moved to Kibi secondary high technical school to study food and nutrition. During her studies, she held leadership positions as a class prefect, cadet crops officer and assistant dinning hall perfect.
After KISHTS ,she proceeded to Kibi Presbyterian College of Education for her Diploma in basic education in which she pursued a general course.
She had her mandatory national service as a teacher at the Calvery presby Academy (Koforidua)after she completed college.
When the national service ended she was then posted to Asamankese AME Zion primary School as a professional teacher to service. During her service as a teacher, she was also the P.A. and deputy sports secretary.
EMPOSA served for four years and then proceeded to the university of education. she is the Ghana National Association of Teachers ladies_ society (GNATLAS) Coordinator 2024/2025 academic year .
Throughout her endeavors, she believes that service to mankind is service to God so she is passionate and committed when duty calls.
She is an industrious lady who always inspires and empowers young ladies to work hard and preserve battles. She encourages people to believe in themselves and their abilities and also embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and never lose sight of their dreams.

Richard Nuer Dautey
P.R.O.
Richard Nuer Dautey is a Ghanaian educator from the Eastern Region of Ghana. He commenced his academic journey at Sra Presbyterian Primary School and completed his basic education at Somanya Methodist Basic School.
He then attended St. Paul's Senior High School, after which he pursued a Diploma in Basic Education at Mount Mary College of Education. During his tenure at the college, he held various leadership positions, including Hall President of Adjikpo Hall, Regimental Sergeant Major (R.S.M) of the Mount Mary Cadet Corps, and Assistant Evangelism Secretary for the National Union for Presbyterian Students Ghana (NUPS-G).
Upon completing his diploma, Mr. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English Education at the University of Education, Winneba School in the Central Region. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English Education at the University of Education, Winneba.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. Dautey serves as the Public Relations Officer for GNATOC-UEW. He is an avid reader with a passion for literature and philosophy. As a team player, he is guided by the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, "Live your life as though your every act was to become a universal law."
Throughout his career, Mr. Dautey has demonstrated a commitment to education, leadership, and community service. His experience as an educator has equipped him with the skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and his leadership roles have honed his ability to work collaboratively with others.
Mr. Dautey's academic and professional pursuits are driven by his passion for empowering others through education. He is dedicated to making a positive impact in his community and beyond.
